Tea is one of life's pleasures, to be appreciated gradually, and time is likewise a good friend of investment. The way of tea values "joy, purity, harmony, and truth." Tasting tea is inherently an elegant pursuit, and to grasp the principles of investment through tea elevates one to an even higher plane.
Recently, KVB Kunlun International launched the "Mr. Su's 'Stock and Wealth Talk' Tea Salon" series—an information exchange and experience-sharing platform tailored specifically for Chinese friends who are passionate about investing. Hosted by Mr. Su Zhiheng, Chief Investment Strategist at Kunlun International, the event offers Chinese investors the opportunity to communicate face-to-face with seasoned analysts and share the joys of investing. In addition, Mr. Raymond Leung, master of Sydney's renowned tea house "Yi Chan Tang," was specially invited to lead a tea-appreciation session. From tasting the tea and savoring its aroma to observing the brew and appreciating its flavor, from gongfu black tea to jasmine tea, clients could admire the master's exquisite tea craft while savoring the way of tea and, in turn, coming to appreciate the essence of investment.
When asked about the original intent behind holding the salon, Mr. Su said: "This salon differs from the usual rigid, technical lectures. We chose Friday afternoon precisely so that everyone could enjoy a relaxed weekend of tea tasting, making friends, and speaking their minds freely. At the same time, we weave the content of small-group investment trading classes and boutique lectures throughout—discussing market trends as well as trading insights, blending education with enjoyment in an elegant and leisurely way." Over the two-hour salon, Mr. Su spoke expansively and wittily, frequently drawing knowing smiles from the attendees. Investors also raised questions from time to time, seeking answers to their doubts. Even as the salon drew to a close, everyone remained reluctant to leave, sharing their own views and hoping to continue discussing their experiences, gains, and losses with Mr. Su.
Mr. Zhang immigrated to Australia many years ago and lives a quiet, secluded life. Aside from being busy with his business, he enjoys trading stocks and drinking tea. He remarked with feeling: "To choose a tranquil, refined setting, brew a good cup of tea, place myself in such surroundings, and taste the tea with a calm and leisurely mind—reflecting amid the faint fragrance on the gains and losses of my recent trades—lets me experience the bitterness, sweetness, and mellowness of the investment journey. I've been reading Mr. Su's investment commentary articles every week for more than three years, but a single heart-to-heart chat is truly worth more than ten years of study." Ms. Wang, who comes from Shanghai and immigrated only recently, learns to trade forex in her spare time and considers herself a beginner. Especially eager to exchange ideas with Mr. Su, she said: "I truly treasure this tea salon. As a new immigrant, I often feel unfamiliar with the place and its people, and it's especially rare to find a group of like-minded friends to discuss trading insights with. Tasting tea also helps me clear my mind, cast off all my worries and trivial concerns, and, for a while, learn to set aside the difficulties of trading."
KVB Kunlun International hopes that events of this kind can move away from the product-sales lectures that flood the market, using tea to make friends and genuinely helping Chinese investors to promptly discern developments in the financial markets and to share and explore investment experiences with experts.
