The long-awaited "KVB Kunlun International Jacky Cheung Light Years World Tour - Auckland Stop" was finally held successfully in Auckland on 9 January 2008, through the sincere collaboration of Star Entertainment Co., Ltd., local organiser China Television Network, and title sponsor KVB Kunlun International.
It had been twelve years. The God of Songs, Jacky Cheung, had been apart from Auckland's Chinese community for 12 years. He returned to Auckland once again to hold the "KVB Kunlun International Jacky Cheung Light Years World Tour 07 - Auckland Stop" performance. Over a full three and a half hours of up-close "contact," Auckland's Vector Arena became a jubilant "Jacky Cheung World" for thousands of people. Facing such a large number of Chinese fans—from the mainland, Hong Kong, and Taiwan to Southeast Asian Chinese, overseas students, and the middle-aged backbone of the Chinese community—Jacky Cheung was deeply moved. He brought the distance as close as possible, repaying the New Zealand Chinese community's enthusiastic support with an admirable, professional performance.

Sorrowful love songs, fervent rock, classic hits, musical theatre the concert was divided into several series, each brought to life one by one. During the opening string of fast-paced numbers, Jacky Cheung remained full of energy on stage, dancing and singing with vigour, showing no sign that he had already passed the age of forty. Perhaps it is precisely this vibrant, striving spirit that attracts and inspires his fans, leading them to kindle an undefeated youthful passion alongside their idol. The most unforgettable aspect of that night's concert was still Jacky Cheung's interpretive skill and his dedication and persistence toward his artistic life. Twenty-three years condensed into a three-and-a-half-hour concert—on stage, whether dancing, performing musical theatre, or singing highly demanding songs, he never showed the slightest weariness. His sincerity and easy-going nature, like that of a big brother, are the fundamental reasons his fans are won over.

As the lights gradually dimmed and Jacky Cheung slowly descended, the entire audience sensed that time was flying by like lightning. A minute later, he returned to the stage and once again sang those golden hits that had accompanied his fans through their youthful years. Song after song, his voice grew ever more powerful, until the whole venue began to transform into a choir of ten thousand voices. When the strains of "Blessings" rang out once more, the moving climax could no longer be contained. Across the entire venue there was only one rhythm, one voice: "Say goodbye, but goodbye won't be too far away; if we are destined, we can look forward to tomorrow, when you and I reunite in a splendid season" The song of ten thousand hearts as one resounded through the skies of Auckland, once again proving that the title of God of Songs is irreplaceable.
The marketing department of KVB Kunlun International Group stated: "'Strive to be strong in life' is the encouragement Jacky Cheung brings to every overseas Chinese. We are delighted and honoured to be the exclusive title sponsor of Jacky Cheung's concerts across the three markets of Australia and New Zealand, giving Auckland's Chinese community an unforgettable evening. In the days to come, we will continue to fully support such high-quality artistic events, enrich the cultural life of the Chinese community, and share one world-class, high-calibre performance after another with Chinese people around the globe."
