To celebrate the 35th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Australia, as well as the company's fifth anniversary, KVB Kunlun International is proudly sponsoring CCTV Chinese Sentiment's two large-scale galas, "Plum Blossom in Australian Snow" and "Songs of Film and Television," which will come to Sydney on July 20 and August 1, 2007.
"Plum Blossom in Australian Snow" marks the first time the Chinese Theatre Association organizes, under its own name, the most representative leading figures of China's regional operas—the "Plum Blossom Award" winners—to perform overseas, showcasing the highest standards of the treasures of Chinese opera. The cast is powerful and of the highest calibre, led by Shang Changrong, President of the Chinese Theatre Association, with many renowned performing artists such as Vice Presidents Li Weikang and Pei Yanling taking the stage together. The repertoire includes Peking opera, Yue opera, Yu opera, Cantonese opera, Kunqu opera, and Sichuan opera, offering audiences an extraordinary night of artistic delights. "Songs of Film and Television" is a continuation and inheritance of last year's successful Sydney performance "Movie Time." This year's guests are mainly young and middle-aged film and television actors and singers from across the Chinese mainland, Taiwan, and Hong Kong, including Tang Guoqiang, Wu Haiyan, Joan Chen, Tu Honggang, Jacky Wu, and Shui Mu Nian Hua. Under the meticulous planning of the "Chinese Sentiment" production team, the entire gala will be centred on emotion, supported by interviews, punctuated with short films, and stitched together with songs, and is sure to win the favour of young and middle-aged audiences.
Following its sponsorship this year of the "China Star Art Troupe's Australian Tour" and the "Sydney Symphony Orchestra's Your Choice Series," KVB Kunlun International once again contributes to the cultural undertakings of Australia's Chinese community. A representative of Kunlun International stated: "Wherever there are Chinese people, there is Chinese sentiment"—a notion that aligns perfectly with Kunlun International's business philosophy. Kunlun International was born five years ago in Auckland, New Zealand, with the founding aspiration of "providing overseas Chinese with a financial company of their own that can serve them in their mother tongue." Guided by this simple yet steadfast philosophy, Kunlun International has grown into an international financial company, with offices in six countries or regions where Chinese people reside, over a hundred elite employees of various nationalities, and a leading position in each local market.
Chinese civilization has a long and profound history, with the operatic classics passed down over millennia remaining ever fresh, while popular arts and entertainment works have also kept pace with the times in recent years. As the political status and economic strength of overseas Chinese continue to rise, their attachment to and yearning for the culture of their homeland grows ever stronger, and every wonderful performance travelling from afar always awakens the long-cherished beautiful memories of overseas Chinese. These two galas will not only once again express the homesickness of overseas wanderers, but also add a vivid and significant chapter to the cultural exchange between China and Australia. Likewise, KVB Kunlun International, guided by the theme of "New Chinese, New Finance," inherits Chinese civilization, combining cutting-edge information technology and financial concepts to serve Chinese communities worldwide. The company sincerely hopes that through this performance it can give back to Australia's Chinese community, and, with the help of television media, spread and promote Chinese culture to every place where there are Chinese people.
