On May 23, 2015, the 6th Badminton Team Tournament hosted by the China Chamber of Commerce in Australia kicked off with great energy in Sydney. The KVB Kunlun International team engaged in fierce competition against elite teams from Australia's business and industry sectors, including Bank of China, Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, Agricultural Bank of China, China Construction Bank, Greenland Group, China Overseas Group, and Huawei Group, achieving the impressive results of fourth place as a team and third place in the individual mixed doubles event.
As the competition began, KVB Kunlun International immediately faced the formidable opponents Bank of China and the Australian branch of TWT Group. The hard-fighting KVB Kunlun International team defeated its opponents with an excellent record of winning both group-stage matches to take first place, advancing to the quarterfinals, where it triumphed over Greenland Group and successfully progressed to the semifinals!
In the semifinal match, facing Bank of China—the hot favorite to win this year's championship—the team showed no fear, defended tenaciously, and seized every opportunity to claim glory. It was an exceptionally difficult match. Bank of China took the lead with imposing momentum, while the KVB Kunlun International team gave its all with eagerness. Both sides were evenly matched and deadlocked, until near the end of the match the KVB Kunlun International team narrowly lost by a score of 1:2, ending its run in the semifinals.
"This is only our second time participating, and our team has already advanced to the semifinals. I believe we will surely achieve even better results next year—we're going for the championship trophy!" said Jimmy, captain of the KVB Kunlun International team and a colleague from the Compliance Department. After the match, everyone gathered around the players, feeling proud of the results and progress they had achieved, as well as the fighting spirit demonstrated by the KVB Kunlun International team.
Counsellor Peng Gang from the Economic and Commercial Office of the Consulate-General in Sydney attended and watched the team finals.
