On January 18, 2014, the annual Chinese Lantern Festival Day — the largest gathering for New Zealand's Chinese community — was held as scheduled at the ASB Showground. As in previous years, KVB Kunlun's zodiac balloons once again became the most popular New Year gift of the day. As one of the most eye-catching booths, a long queue stretched out beyond the exhibition hall early in the morning. KVB Kunlun's booth once again welcomed an "old friend" — New Zealand Prime Minister John Key, who took the time to pose for a photo with KVB Kunlun staff dressed in traditional Chinese New Year attire, and highly recognized and praised KVB Kunlun's contributions to interpreting and promoting Chinese culture overseas. On the same day, KVB Kunlun also made an appearance at the Year of the Horse Lunar New Year celebration in Hurstville, Sydney. KVB Kunlun brought its vision of soaring to great heights along with sincere New Year wishes to Forest Road, the main street in the heart of Hurstville. Councilor Dominic Sin visited the KVB Kunlun booth to chat warmly with staff and shake hands for photos, while Hurstville Deputy Mayor Nancy Liu gave high praise to KVB Kunlun's customer service efforts. At the New Year events held simultaneously in both locations, the on-site audience included not only overseas Chinese but also local residents and immigrants of various ethnic backgrounds, who joined the overseas Chinese community in experiencing the endless charm of Chinese culture and celebrating the Chinese Year of the Horse together.
