Hong Kong, 1 September 2026 — KVB Global was proud to open its doors at Five Pacific Place on Friday, 21 August 2026, to welcome Hong Kong's digital-asset community to the Hong Kong gathering of Hong Kong's Digital Asset Evolution: From Infrastructure to Institutional Adoption. Co-organized by the Digital Assets Association (DAA) and Cyberport Hong Kong, the hybrid seminar connected audiences in Hong Kong, Singapore, and online for a regional conversation on the future of digital assets.

The discussion came at a pivotal moment for the city's ecosystem. Over the past year, Hong Kong has marked several regulatory milestones, including the issuance of its first stablecoin licenses in April 2026, the expansion of the GenA.I. Sandbox, and the acceleration of real-world asset (RWA) tokenization through Project Ensemble. Against this backdrop, the seminar was designed to explore how the city is transitioning from building digital-asset infrastructure to driving real-world adoption and institutional integration.

Opening: Cyberport's view from the ground

Opening the program, Rachel Lee, Director of Blockchain & Digital Asset at Cyberport, delivered the presentation "Connecting Asia's Digital Asset Corridors: Hong Kong's Ecosystem and Opportunities". She offered a first-hand look at Cyberport's role as the city's Web3.0 hub, highlighting a community of more than 320 blockchain and digital-asset companies and pilots delivered across RWA, payments, and security, many already commercialized.

Keynote: one year into the stablecoin regime

DAA Hong Kong Chapter founding member Louie Lee then delivered the keynote "Hong Kong's Stablecoin Regime – One Year On" live from Singapore, tracing the framework's evolution from licensing and regulation toward real-world adoption.

Panel: six themes for institutional adoption

The centerpiece of the afternoon was a panel moderated by Byron Hsu, KVB Global's CEO for Asia, covering real-world assets, artificial intelligence, and institutional digital-asset adoption. The discussion brought together Henry Zhang, JingYi Phuang, Louie Lee, Rachel Lee, and Terence Ng, and moved through six key themes:

1.How Hong Kong's stablecoin framework is evolving from licensing and regulation toward practical market use.

2.Why lifecycle controls, cybersecurity, and operational resilience are becoming essential to institutional confidence.

3.How stablecoins could serve as a settlement layer for tokenised funds and bonds.

4.Why programmable cash flows may provide a bridge between traditional finance and on-chain markets.

5.The sector's next test: developing compelling use cases and enabling seamless cross-border interoperability.

6.Cyberport's community of more than 320 blockchain and digital-asset companies, with pilots already delivered across RWA, payments, and security.

A first for DAA: two cities, one conversation

The event marked the DAA's first cross-border gathering, running as two physical venues in two cities with one live regional conversation. It welcomed in-person audiences at both locations, with more than 40 additional participants joining virtually. The cross-representation made the occasion especially meaningful: Louie Lee delivered his keynote from Singapore, while DAA ExCo member TzeChing Chang joined in person in Hong Kong, a reflection of the active exchange between the two chapters.

The conversation continued

When the formal program ended, the discussion carried on at the networking reception, where senior voices from banking, Web3, compliance, and investment exchanged views over drinks and canapés, with panel discussions developing into genuine business conversations.

KVB Global extends its gratitude to the Digital Assets Association (DAA) and Cyberport Hong Kong for their co-organization, to all speakers, and to every guest who joined us at Five Pacific Place. The event reinforced the firm's commitment to Hong Kong's digital-asset ecosystem as it moves from infrastructure into real-world, institutional adoption.
