The clever monkey brings good tidings, adding to the festive spirit of the season!
Over the two Lunar New Year weekends that just passed, the Chatswood Year of the Monkey Lunar New Year Celebration in Sydney, Australia, and the Melbourne Chinese New Year Celebration were held with great enthusiasm. Chinese community groups as well as political and business luminaries from both cities gathered to jointly celebrate the New Year. As a major sponsor of both events, KVB Kunlun International prepared vibrant gifts rich in traditional Chinese cultural flavour, along with a novel and "blessing"-filled Chinese calligraphy couplet writing activity, to celebrate the New Year together with the local Chinese community.

Ingeniously Crafted Gifts 燱armly Welcomed by the Public

To make the New Year event even livelier, KVB Kunlun International prepared multiple exquisite gifts this year, extending wishes and blessings for good fortune and prosperity in the new year.

Classical palace-style peony round fans brought a touch of coolness to the hot summer days, while the 2016 European Famous Paintings calendar was widely loved locally for its noble and elegant appearance. The clever monkey figurines specially made for the Year of the Monkey were warmly welcomed by friends—hundreds of adorable little monkeys drew crowds who, undeterred by the scorching sun, queued in lines stretching a hundred metres, until they were all snapped up. KVB staff also dressed up as the God of Wealth to hand out red envelopes to the audience on site, hoping to gather nobility, spirit and fortune together and usher everyone warmly into the Year of the Monkey.

Promoting Traditional Culture 燱riting Couplets to Seek Blessings by Hand
In addition to presenting a dazzling array of gifts to guests on site, KVB Kunlun International specially prepared brushes, ink, paper and inkstones, inviting members of the public to take part in the New Year couplet writing activity. It attracted guests of all ages and colours to paint blessings with brush and ink, each writing their own to seek fortune and good luck and get an auspicious start to the New Year. While passing on traditional Chinese culture, KVB also wished everyone a lucky star shining bright and boundless blessings in the Year of the Monkey.

A Dazzling Programme 燳outh Street Dance Adds Vitality
On 6 February, the youth street dance competition sponsored and titled by KVB Kunlun International kicked off at Federation Square in Melbourne. The thoroughly modern street dance music, combined with the dreamlike moves of teenagers averaging under 15 years of age, ignited the enthusiasm of the audience. The vibrant contestants and their energetic movements drew waves of amazement from the crowd, successfully pushing the local New Year celebration to its climax.
