On February 11, 2017, Sydney's Darling Harbour gathered Australia's top dragon boat teams for 100 races on the water, attracting over 3,000 competitors from across Australia to battle it out at the Sydney Dragon Boat Festival—the largest dragon boat race in the Southern Hemisphere!

Although Sydney was scorching hot that day, the heat was no match for the athletes' fiery hearts. The Pacific Dragon Team, sponsored by KVB Kunlun International, was also fully prepared and striving to forge ahead.

During the opening ceremony, when the ink brush lightly dotted the eyes on both sides of the racing boat's dragon head, the divine dragon awakened from its slumber, infusing competitive vitality into the dragon boat. When the starting signal sounded and the drummers began beating their drums, the paddlers raised their oars and rowed with all their might. The dragon boats shot forward like arrows released from a bowstring, their magnificent momentum stirring the spectators' hearts and filling them with unbounded joy.

In the morning's mixed-gender group competition, the KVB Kunlun International dragon boat team united as one and forged ahead courageously, taking the lead to win the championship in that category. The joy of this early victory made the men's and women's group races in the afternoon all the more anticipated.

In the afternoon, the women's team was first to compete! Under temperatures exceeding 40 degrees, several members of the women's group felt unwell, yet they still fought on with determination, ultimately taking third place by a margin of milliseconds. Although the women's group did not claim the title, their fighting spirit inspired the men's group. The male team members cast aside all pressure and returned to the battlefield, finally achieving the ultimate victory and setting a historic best record! With two championships and one third-place finish, the KVB Kunlun International dragon boat team became the most eye-catching focus of the day!

After the race, Mr. Steve McCoy, KVB Kunlun International's Australia Regional Manager, represented the company in taking a group photo with the dragon boat team members and presenting the prize money.

The dragon boat team members signed their names on their team uniforms, sharing the joy of hard-won victory together with KVB Kunlun International.
As early as 1994, dragon boat racing came to Sydney and has gradually become a Spring Festival celebration beloved by overseas Chinese and locals alike. The dragon boat race is widely loved by the public not only for its rich folk-cultural flavor, but even more so for the spirit of hard struggle, unity and cooperation, and resolute courage that the team members demonstrate throughout the competition. At the start of the new year, the dragon boat race showed all Sydney residents the positive energy of pressing forward.
KVB Kunlun International has sponsored this event—enjoyed by both Chinese and Western communities—for four consecutive years. This is not only because KVB Kunlun International has always relied on a spirit of enterprising progress, unity, and courage to provide quality financial services to businesses and Chinese communities at home and abroad, but also because it hopes to spread this spirit to everyone, so that together we may create brilliance in the new year!
